Square Appointments is the booking side of Square, the payments and point-of-sale company. Senvia POS is a cloud POS and business-management system built specifically for beauty and wellness businesses: salons, barbers, spas, nail and lash studios, massage and aesthetics clinics.

The two overlap a lot on booking and checkout but differ in how payments and pricing work. Square bundles its own card processing, hardware and banking. Senvia records card-terminal payments at the POS and runs online card payments through the shop's own Stripe account. This page compares them using Senvia's own product facts and Square's official US pricing page and support centre, checked on 9 October 2026. Every Square detail below links to the page where we found it.

Full is USD 49.90/month and adds customer subscription billing, attendance and clock-in, website and online shop, custom domain, automatic payroll and the supplier system. Add-ons: website system USD 10.90/month, automatic payroll USD 5.90/month, supplier system USD 10.90/month, extra branch USD 30/month, extra storage USD 5.90 per 10 GB/month. A fixed fee of USD 1.00 (or local equivalent) applies per successful recurring membership charge; Stripe's own fees are separate. See Senvia pricing.

Square (US pricing page):

  • Square Free: $0/month per location; Square Plus: $49/month per location; Square Premium: $149/month per location source
  • In-person card fees: 2.6% + 15¢ on Free, 2.5% + 15¢ on Plus, 2.4% + 15¢ on Premium; online or invoice payments 3.3% + 30¢ on Free and 2.9% + 30¢ on Plus and Premium source
  • Text message marketing: 500 texts included per month on Plus then 3¢ each, 2,500 on Premium then 1.5¢ each source

Who each is best for

Square Appointments may suit you better if you want payments, hardware, banking and booking from one large provider, if you are a solo professional happy with the free plan, or if you need offline card payments and a wide hardware choice. Square's scale and ecosystem are hard to match.

Senvia POS may suit you better if you sell many packages, stored credit and memberships, want commission and payroll inside the same system, prefer flat plan pricing over per-location fees, want to keep your own card terminal or Stripe account, or need English and Chinese for staff and customers. Senvia has a 30-day free trial and a migration guide.
